Swimming Pool Information

The Swimming Pool of Royal College was declared open by the Hon. Dudley Senanayake (Prime Minister of Ceylon) on the 30th of October 1968. Since then it has been maintained by the Board of Management of the Royal College Union. The Royal College Union Aquatic Club is formed by the swimmers of Royal College with the aim of advising the Board of management.

Beginners from Grades 1 to 5 learn Swimming as a subject in school.  Other students from Grade 6 to 13 use the pool after school hours from Monday to Friday. (5.15 pm to 7.00 pm)

Students of some Government Schools as well as International Schools have the opportunity to using the swimming pool free.

Obtaining Membership of the of the Royal College Union Aquatic Club

Applications have to be submitted on Application Forms obtainable from the Pool Office. Duly completed Application forms should be submitted to the Pool Office during office hours along with 2 recently taken Stamp size colour photographs and the respective fees. Entry to the Swimming Pool will be allowed only when the recipient produces the Membership Card.
