J. R. JAYEWARDENE PAVILION & CRICKET GROUNDS
The total cost of the pavilion was Rs.3-8 million and funded exclusively by old boys and well wishers. The pavilion was officially declared opened by the President H.E. J.R Jayawardena, on the 26th of July 1985, in the presence of Hon. Ranil Wickramasinghe (then Education Minister). It is equipped with two Dressing rooms, an Auditorium, Office room, and a Dormitory for visiting Schools, two rooms for general staff and their quarters.
The pavilion is managed by a Board of Management, elected at the Annual General Meeting of the Royal College Union (RCU), with the assistance of the Grounds Manager.
The main income of the complex comes from the sponsorship of displaying hoardings.
