House System
Although the house system was inaugurated by principal Hartley in 1918 using the Cinnamon Gardens, Bambalapitiya North & South and Colpetty as the house names. It was reorganized by Principal Major H. L Reed in 1921 who named them after 4 former principals. They are Hartley, Harward, Marsh & Boake.
As the student population increased Bogada Premaratne, in1970 honoured the person responsible for the House system by adding another house named as Reed with the colours of Red & White.
Hartley House
