The Drug Prevention Unit of Royal College was initiated on 21st April 2009. Before the inception of the current club this society functioned as the Temperance Society of Royal College.

The objective of the unit is to prevent students from using drugs & showing students the scientific way to refrain from drugs. The Initial & Still serving Master In-Charge of this unit is Mr. R.K.B. Rahubaddha. The initial president of this unit was Aruna.P.Wijewardena.
