History

The Buddhist Brotherhood of Royal College is one of the oldest religious clubs in the school and its more than 50 years old. Buddhist Brotherhood has the highest members list for the last 50 years because it represents the largest percentage of the students in the school. The Buddhist brotherhood is engaged in many activities in order to improve the student discipline and general conduct. Every effort is made to get as many children as possible to participate in events without disturbing their studies. As a religious Club We Annually Organize the ‘Pirith’ Ceremony, Vesak Post Card, Vesak Competitions [which contains lantern competition, Class Decoration competition and etc], Annual ‘Esala Sil’ Programme, Every month in view of the full moon Poya Dhamma sermons and meditation programmes, the Annual “Bakthi Gee” programme, Annual Dalada Poojawa is others. Buddhist Brotherhood has, is and will continue to be a part of this great institution

The Buddhist brotherhood is engaged in many activities in order to improve the student discipline and general conduct. Every effort is made to get as many children as possible to participate in these events without disturbing their studies. As this country is base on discipline and general conduct it is important to improve this things in the further citizens of this country as the discipline of the country is going on a down way route.
The Annual event of “Esala sil” Programme with the participation of the College student to improve the students discipline and other Buddhist visions.  Annual Pirith Ceremony and the arms giving.
The Sunday school continues to hold Dhamma class for the College Hostellers. The following assist in teaching on voluntary basis. helping the students to learn the Buddhist teaching and how to live your life according to that
 Annual Bakthi Gee” Programme is scheduled in collaboration with the Art and Aesthetic division for the “Poson day”, to spread the message of the Buddhist leanings.

  
Ceremony of “Buddha Pooja” is conducted every morning of school days which every class is give a day to conduct this event.
