The Archeological Society of Royal College was commenced in 1982 with the guidance of Mr. E. Wijethunga as the Teacher in Charge. The first Chairman Mr. Dinesh Weerawansa led the society with the assistance of the secretary Mr. C. Senadeera.

The establishment of the ‘Royal College Archives’ in 1992, during the period of Chairman MR. Indika Baddegama is the main project that our society has completed. Additionally, we have attended lectures at the National Museum and published a Magazine named ‘Edas Meda’.
